Space Oddity...

Whilst writing this blog and showing it to various people, a good friend of mine told me that I would definitely show that I'm so obsessed with David Bowie if I started calling his brother "Major Tom". Which got me thinking, what is it about artists like David Bowie that make people fall in love with his music so much, and even start to base their blog ideas around him?

The answer is, over the years, Bowie has been seen as a musical chameleon, as he has changed and adapted over the years, giving him a versatility that has been received greatly over the decades. He's even had two critically acclaimed TV series written around his songs in the shape of "Life on Mars" and "Ashes to Ashes", which are diamonds in the rough when it comes to cop shows.

He's not been without his faults though. Who could forget his controversial comments in the 1970s saying that Britain could benefit from having a fascist leader, and the ever-changing ideas of his sexual orientation (I'm not homophobic, I just think people need to make their minds up). But after taking these into consideration, I believe that David Bowie is one of the most influential musicians of all time, and just like him, I hope to shake off my paranoia of what people think of me, and become a completely nuts and reckless "Space Oddity..."
